Cuban Government thanked Colombia for its donation
Havana, Jan 16 (RHC) On Monday, the Cuban government received a donation from the Colombian government and trade unions to support the recovery from the impact of Hurricane Ian.
First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Ana Teresita Gónzalez, described the delivery as a gesture of solidarity because it comes at a time of strong limitations mostly generated by the U.S. blockade.
This is not the first time that Colombia helps the Island since during the fire at the Supertanker Base in Matanzas they donated human skin tissue for the care and recovery of the people affected in the accident.
The donation of around 142 tons includes clothes, bedding, and household utensils, as well as construction materials and tanks for storing water. It will benefit about two thousand families and 13 thousand people in the western zone of the Antillean country.
The source adds that the general director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management in Colombia, Javier Pava, expressed the solidarity of the Colombian people, which is why we are strengthening ties of union and joint work to overcome together the challenges imposed by climate change, which is manifested in constant natural disasters (Source: ACN).
