Baradel condemned the coup actions in Peru and Brazil and the attack on Vice-President Cristina Fernandez.

Havana, Jan 23 (RHC) The secretary of International Relations of the Argentine Workers' Central Union, Roberto Baradel condemned on Monday the US aggressions against Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, and demanded respect for the sovereignty of the peoples.

In statements to Prensa Latina news agency, he denounced the damages caused to these countries and highlighted the need to strengthen regional integration to face these attacks.

Baradel pointed out that in this context, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the trade union, peasant, indigenous, and human rights defense organizations, grouped in the CELAC Social, have great relevance.

"They are very important instances to advance in economic development, the defense of democracy and the distribution of wealth with sovereignty and respecting the principle of self-determination of the peoples", he affirmed.

In addition, he confirmed that Argentine groups from other countries in the area will mobilize tomorrow in the vicinity of the Sheraton Hotel, in Buenos Aires, where the VII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the CELAC will take place.

The participants in the demonstration will deliver a declaration in support of this platform and against destabilizing actions of the opposition.

During a press conference, Baradel condemned the coup actions in Peru and Brazil, the attack on Vice-President Cristina Fernández, and the plans of right-wing groups to prevent the development of the meeting of the integration mechanism.

"They want to attack CELAC, but they will not be able to because we support our leaders", he asserted. (Source: Prensa Latina)
