International Conference 'For the Balance of the World' began in Cuba

Havana, Jan 24 (RHC) The 5th International Conference 'For the Balance of the World' began this Tuesday at the Havana Convention Palace, with the attendance of the Vice President of the Republic, Salvador Valdés Mesa; the president of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), Esteban Lazo Hernández, and the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz.

 

Also present were Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of the Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC), and Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, head of its Ideological Department.

 

Under the premise "With all and for the good of all", the event will be held until next Saturday, the date marking the closing of the world tribute to the 170th anniversary of the Apostle’s birth.

In his opening remarks, Héctor Hernández Pardo, Coordinator of the 'José Martí International Solidarity project, recalled the evolution of this meeting, which at the beginning brought together some twenty nations and currently has 87 countries and 1,100 participants.

 

He also highlighted the efforts of the Cuban government's leadership in coordinating and organizing this event, with the support of local institutions, which joined the spaces for debate, presentations, and exhibitions.

 

The forum of plural and multidisciplinary thought has the support of global entities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

 

The meeting's program seeks to promote dialogue on the problems facing the planet, with a plural and multidisciplinary approach in the promotion of joint solutions, hand in hand with intellectuals, scientists, politicians, and trade unionists (Source: ACN and PL).
