Havana, Feb 6 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel called on Monday in the central city of Santa Clara to encourage young people in all spheres of society, due to their importance for the country's development.

As a candidate for deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), the dignitary met at the 'Martí' library, with a representation of members of the Federation of High School Students from the capital of the province of Villa Clara.

Díaz-Canel urged young people to decide on a united vote at the polls on March 26, which would put the best-known candidates for deputies on an equal footing with the lesser-known ones.

For his part, the president of the Federation of High School Students in the province, Maikel Castro highlighted the legitimate pride of these young people that the head of state has been proposed by the city that keeps the remains of the Argentine-Cuban guerrilla fighter, Ernesto Che Guevara.
