Japanese Ambassador visits eastern Cuban province

Havana, Feb 8 (RHC) On Wednesday, Japanese Ambassador to Cuba Hirata Kenji toured health care centers in the eastern city of Bayamo, capital of Granma province, as part of a solidarity and economic exchange visit to the territory.

 

Accompanied by the governor, Francisco Escribano Cruz, the diplomat arrived at the 'Carlos Manuel de Céspedes' clinical-surgical-teaching hospital, where he learned about the benefits of the donation of Japanese equipment to the department of pathological anatomy.

 

The program foresees similar meetings at the 'Jimmy Hirzel polyclinic and the 'Celia Sánchez Manduley hospital in the coastal city of Manzanillo, informed José Manuel Reuco García, an official in charge of international relations at the Provincial Government of People's Power (GPPP).

He added that Hirata Kenji will also exchange with rice farmers and will visit the National Monument Parque Museo La Demajagua, the scene of the beginning of the liberation struggles of the Cuban people, on October 10, 1868, under the leadership of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.

 

The day before, the ambassador held a meeting in Bayamo with directors of Granma entities that produce goods and services for export.

 

The distinguished visitor announced future collaborations in the Antillean nation for the promotion of community projects for the processing of agricultural goods. (Source: ACN)
