Cuba and Algeria consolidate bilateral relations

Havana, Feb 14 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez received at the Palace of the Revolution His Excellency Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health of Algeria, and the delegation accompanying him to the 23rd Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the two countries and the bilateral business forum.

 

 

The Head of State referred to his recent visit to Algeria in November last year and highlighted the important conversations held with the President and Prime Minister of the sister nation.

 

He also spoke of the understanding of the Algerian authorities on the Cuban situation, the opportunity to learn more about the culture of that nation, and the transcendence of the conversions carried out.

We have fond memories of our visit to Algeria and the understanding of the Algerian authorities on the Cuban situation, said the Cuban Head of State.

 

For his part, the Algerian Minister of Health, His Excellency Abdelhak Saihi, thanked our President for his welcome and the possibility of the meeting.

 

In turn, he conveyed warm greetings from the President of Algeria, who asked to intensify the activities of these days in Cuba, particularly those related to the Business Forum.

 

The distinguished visitor spoke of the dialogue held with several Cuban ministers during his stay in our country in which topics of mutual interest were discussed, "we are willing to implement all the agreements that were reached during his visit," he said.

The Cuban President was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruíz; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca and Vicente La O, Minister of Energy and Mines.

 

On the Algerian side, the meeting was attended by His Excellency Abdelkrim Benchiah, Ambassador of that nation in our country; the Director General of Pharmacy and Health Equipment, Mrs. Quahiba Hadjoudj, and the Director General of the Pasteur Institute, Mr. Fawzi Derrar.

 

Both nations have maintained historic relations of brotherhood, fraternity, and solidarity for six decades (Source: Radio Rebelde).
