Illegal immigrants returned to Cuba by US Coast Guard
Havana, Mar 24 (RHC) A group of 64 irregular migrants was returned to Cuba today by the United States Coast Guard Service (SGC), as reported by the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) on its official website.
Through the port of Orozco, in Artemisa, came 60 men and four women who had participated in three illegal exits from the country and were intercepted at sea by the SGC. Most of the returnees reside in the provinces of Matanzas and Havana.
Two of these people were transferred to the investigative bodies for being suspected of committing serious criminal acts that were being investigated since before their illegal exit.
Cuba reaffirms its commitment to regular, safe and orderly migration and reiterates its alert about the danger and life-threatening conditions of illegal departures from the country, the Minint remarked. (Source: ACN)
