Role of neurotechnology in teaching children is highlighted
Havana, Apr 5 (RHC) The application of good teaching on neuroscience is key in the development of neurotechnology at an early age because it enhances capacities, explained the president of the National Neuroscience Society, Nibaldo Hernández.
At the Third International Congress on Neurodevelopment and Early Care (Cinat) 2023, which has been taking place since the previous day at the Plaza América Convention Center, in Varadero, Hernández asserted that neurotechnology marks a new change of era.
“Applying information and communication technologies (ICTs), the Internet and artificial intelligence correctly is a prerequisite in today's society, which is why it is necessary to know why you do things in order to do them better”, he said.
The scientist expressed that in order to set the path towards a good development of neurotechnology in children, first it is necessary to work on educating them about neuroscience, since it is in charge of the study of the nervous system and enables acting on something to be done on a scientific basis.
To learn effectively, the brain develops sensory, motor, emotional, cognitive, and coordination functions that allow neuroplasticity to make brain changes in response to experience with complex and diverse mechanisms that produce the growth of new connections and the creation of new neurons, he said.
The president of the Neurosciences Society of Cuba stated that the possibility of addressing issues such as neurotechnology and neurodevelopment at Cinat give the event great value since an interconnection is sought between the participating institutions and scientists in order to combine research.
According to the doctor of science within neuroscience, neurodevelopment is the most important point because it seeks to facilitate the inclusion in daily life of children who have disorders in it, as well as optimally enhance their nervous system capabilities.
