Cuban Deputy Prime Minister finished an intense working visit to China
Havana, April 9 (RHC)-- Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo ended a working visit to China today, which included an intense agenda, tours of various provinces of the country and the signing of agreements in prioritized sectors.
Perdomo and his accompanying delegation left from the municipality of Shanghai. On the last day, he spoke with managers and representatives of local and Cuban companies based in the south of the eastern nation.
He expressed his appreciation for the support and participation of these entities in different projects that contribute to the socioeconomic development plan until 2030, and advocated a greater insertion of Chinese companies in the business opportunities opening up on the island, particularly in wholesale and retail trade.
In the city of Shenzhen, he spoke with the secretary of the municipal committee of the Communist Party of China, Meng Fanli, and evaluated the existing ties between Cuba and the southern city as very positive.
Perdomo referred to the satisfactory results of President Miguel Díaz-Canel's visit in Beijing and highlighted the implementation of the consensus reached with President Xi Jinping, especially in the fields of telecommunications, electronics industry and biotechnology.
He reiterated the will to deepen bilateral cooperation in multiple spheres and stressed the importance of joint work to identify opportunities and develop comprehensive cooperation between both parties.
The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister arrived in Beijing on March 30 at the head of a high-level delegation with the aim of following up on projects in prioritized sectors for both countries.
As part of the program, he spoke with his counterpart Zhang Guoqing; Jin Zhuanglong, head of Industries and Information Technologies; Luo Zhaohui, president of the Agency for International Development; and Zeng Yixin, vice president of the National Health Commission; among other figures.
He also toured the facilities of the Biotech Phama and Changchun Heber Biological Technology (Changheber) joint ventures, and the innovation center for biotechnology located in Yongzhou, where he learned about the work carried out in them and the prospects for growth in the short and medium term.
In the context of the visit, Cuban and Chinese institutions signed an agreement on cybersecurity and another that lays the foundations for opening a joint laboratory in the southwestern city of Chengdu.
