Díaz-Canel received the foreign minister of Singapore
Havana, April 22 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel received Saturday afternoon Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who is on an official visit to the Caribbean nation.
At the meeting, the parties confirmed the willingness to continue strengthening the fruitful bilateral cooperation in tourism, biotechnology and port management, and the existence of opportunities in other areas of interest, Díaz-Canel reported on Twitter.
Balakrishnan said the day before in dialogue with the Caribbean nation's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, that the largest of the Antilles has great potential and that there are numerous areas where work opportunities are open between the two countries.
He also said that Cuba can achieve many things without a blockade, "but we should not wait for that political decision; so we have come prepared to analyze all the spheres and opportunities in which we can cooperate," the head of the Singaporean diplomacy emphasized.
Cuba and Singapore have been developing diplomatic ties since 1997, extended with the opening on November 4, 2015 of the embassy of the largest of the Antilles in that Asian city-state.(Source:PL)
