Cuba salutes the 62nd anniversary of Sierra Leone’s independence
Havana, April 27 (RHC) - The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs today conveyed its congratulations to the people and Government of Sierra Leone on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of its independence.
Through Twitter, the Foreign Ministry reiterated its willingness to continue strengthening the ties of cooperation and friendship that unite both countries.
On April 27, 1961, Sierra Leone achieved its independence from the United Kingdom. Between 1990 and 2002, it suffered a devastating civil war that left enormous consequences.
Havana and Freetown established diplomatic relations on April 24, 1972, based on collaboration, respect and exchange in fields such as education and health. (Source: Prensa Latina)
