Díaz-Canel attends ceremony to honor Labor Heroes

Havana, April 29 (RHC)-- With the presence of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, the ceremony for the awarding of decorations granted by the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), among them the honorary title of Heroes and Heroines of Labor, began in this capital city.

Accompanying the President were members of the Political Bureau of the CCPCC Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic, Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Secretary General of the CTC, and Teresa Amarrelle Boué, Secretary General of the Federation of Cuban Women, among other representatives of the Party and the workers' organization.

On this occasion, 11 outstanding workers, representing eight national unions, received the highest distinction granted by the Head of State, at the proposal of the CTC.

Also receiving the Lazaro Peña Order of I, II and III and the Jesus Mendez Medal are more than 20 workers and five collectives.

The activity is part of the day of celebrations on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Workers' Day in Cuba. (Source: ACN)
