Havana, May 6 (RHC) The president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Carricarte, affirmed today that his visit to Italy is aimed at promoting and concluding investments and business with companies from this nation.

Carricarte asserted his interest in continuing the work with Italy, which had an important participation in the Havana International Fair 2022, held from November 14 to 18 in the Cuban capital.

To this end he will participate in the 9th session of the Cuba-Italy Business Committee (CICI), which will take place on May 8 in Venice and will facilitate exchanges between entities from both countries.

The Cuban delegation to that event will also be made up of Mirtha Granda, ambassador in Italy; Adalberto Venero, Vice Minister of Tourism; and a large group of Cuban businessmen.

Carricarte stated that the purpose of the event is defining specific projects, especially in sectors such as agri-food, renewable energy, and Information Technology and Communications.

During a conversation held last Friday at the Cuban Embassy in Rome, the official said that the Cuban Chamber of Commerce aspires to accompany these processes so that they advance and contribute to expanding economic and commercial relations between both nations.

For her part, Granda emphasized the commitment of all the officials of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Italy to fulfill this task from their different areas of attention, and highlighted among the most recent results, the broad participation of businessmen from this European nation in the Havana International Fair 2022.

Carricarte and Granda held contacts in Rome with directors of the National Association of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad, and the Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian Companies, with the aim of expanding bilateral relations and following up on issues of common interest.
