UNESCO inscribes elements of Cuba in Memory of the World
Havana, May 18 (RHC) UNESCO today approved for its heritage value the inscription of the collection of Cuban film posters and the capitular acts of the Havana City Council in the International Register of the Memory of the World.
The decision of the multilateral entity occurred during the session of the Program and Foreign Relations Commission of its 216 Executive Council, which examined 64 proposals.
The International Memory of the World Register seeks to guarantee the preservation, access and protection of the documentary heritage of humanity.
Regarding the decision, the Cuban ambassador to UNESCO, Yahima Esquivel, thanked the approval and reaffirmed the island's commitment to the protection and management of documentary heritage, as well as promoting its access. The diplomat also recognized the teams that worked on the preparation of the candidacy files for the Cuban film poster collection and the capitular acts of the Havana City Council.
