Havana, Jun 22 (RHC) Brazilian writer and political scientist Frei Betto spoke with Cuban Ministry of Education (Mined) officials about the development of communication to provide an outlet for the Food and Nutrition Education activities planned by the institution.
According to Mined’s website, Frei Betto was received by the vice-minister, Eugenio González Pérez and specialists from the Ministry of Culture and representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the country were also present.
During the exchange, the results of Mined in its mission to educate, promote knowledge, form values, create habits, and socialize healthy food practices were noted.
Betto warned about the need to create in the Cuban population an awareness of production and reflected on the need to strengthen the work in gardens, plots, and any space where it is possible to cultivate.
As an advisor to the Cuban Government for the design and implementation of the National Plan for Food Sovereignty and Nutritional Education, known as the SSAN Plan, Frei Betto was also received today at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Health.
According to the scheduled agenda, this Thursday the Brazilian intellectual will hold a meeting with authorities of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. (Source: ACN)
