Indian trade union organization demands an end to the blockade of Cuba
Havana, July 21 (RHC) The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) demanded an immediate end to the US blockade of Cuba in a message to greet the island on the Day of National Rebellion.
In the document, the union organization of more than 100 years denounced the illegal policy that Washington maintains against the Cuban people and highlighted the resistance and courage of Cubans in the face of that economic war.
The organization ratified its solidarity and support for Cuba in the defense of its rights and in confronting the US blockade, which the organization described as a type of imperialist aggression and warfare with means other than conventional weapons.
The AITUC condemned the hypocrisy of the organizations that are aligned with imperialist interests and assured that they will not be successful in their claim to defeat the revolutionary people of Cuba.
On the other hand, it emphasized the historical significance of July 26, 1953, when Fidel Castro led two groups of young people in simultaneous assaults on the Moncada barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks in Bayamo, to unleash a popular insurrection against the dictator Fulgencio Batista. In this regard, the union organization pointed out that that day made the aspirations of the Cuban revolutionaries come true. (Source: PL)
