Cuba regrets deaths from landslide in Georgia
Havana, Aug 5 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez lamented the consequences of a landslide in Georgia, which until today left 11 dead and 36 missing.
In his Twitter profile, the highest representative of Cuban diplomacy conveyed condolences to the people and government of that nation, as well as to the relatives of the deceased.
The landslide, which washed away bridges and damaged roads, occurred on the night of August 3 in the village of Shovi, in the Georgian region of Racha. According to the Ministry of Health of that country, the rescuers managed to evacuate in one day and transfer 210 citizens who were in the affected area to a safe place.
The Government of Georgia declared national mourning on August 7 for the tragedy. (Source: PL)
