Cuban diplomat delivers lecture in Bolivia on island's migration policy

La Paz, August 18 (RHC) --The general director of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Living Abroad, Ernesto Soberón, offers a virtual conference today in Bolivia on the Cuban Migratory Policy, which will be transmitted through the Zoom platform.

The hearing called, Cuban Migratory Policy and the attention to Cubans living abroad, is developed from the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Plurinational Diplomatic Academy of Bolivia and the Higher Institute of International Relations Raul Roa Garcia, of the Foreign Ministry of the island.

Sources from the Cuban embassy in the country informed that those interested in following this conference on the zoom platform will be able to access it through the ID 892 4328 6300 and the access code 472736.

The day before, Soberón held a meeting with the compatriots living in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, capital of the department of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

"Always a pleasant experience to receive the warm embrace, the Cuban spirit and the desire to build the future of the homeland#JuntosXCuba," wrote the director on his Twitter account.

The diplomat added that among other topics of interest, they discussed the IV Conference of the Nation and Emigration, convened for November 18 and 19, 2023 in Havana.

The official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean island headed the delegation that attended this Thursday the III Round of Talks with Bolivia on migration issues.

A note circulated to the press states that both parties examined the state of the migratory flow and evaluated the implementation of joint actions.

Such collaboration is aimed at discouraging illicit acts associated with irregular displacements, it was informed.

According to the text, during the exchange, the delegations discussed the importance of guaranteeing regular, orderly and safe travel.

The Bolivian representation was headed by Eva Chuquimia, vice-minister of Institutional Management and Consular Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Andean Amazonian country.
