Cuban and Chinese authorities strengthen bilateral friendship

 

Havana, Oct 23 (RHC) The vice prime ministers of China, He Lifeng, and Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas, advocated in Beijing today to further strengthen the friendship that unites both countries.

During a bilateral dialogue, He recalled the visit of Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel to China in 2022, and his meetings with Chinese president Xi Jinping at that time and more recently during the BRICS Summit in South Africa.

In the opinion of the Asian vice prime minister, these meetings injected renewed dynamism into bilateral relations, which is why it is time to continue working together to strengthen high-level mutual political trust and the special friendship that unites the two nations.

For his part, Cabrisas extended congratulations for the success of the recently concluded Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

He ratified Havana's support for the global initiatives promoted by Xi, as well as the willingness to work together with Beijing in building a community of shared destiny for humanity.

The Cuban vice prime minister is on a working visit to China during which he will co-chair the 30th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Trade and Financial Relations.

According to a statement from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Commission will strengthen ties between both nations, review and project the main topics of mutual interest, including those related to the scientific-technical area and bilateral cooperation.

As part of his agenda, the also minister of Foreign Trade and Investment visited the facilities of the joint venture Biotech Pharmaceutical Limited in Beijing, with important results in terms of biotechnological cooperation.

He also visited the headquarters of the JD electronic commerce platform, in which the island has the Excelencias de Cuba Pavilion. Diplomatic sources in China assured that Cabrisas had a productive exchange with the company's high-level advisor, Li Ge.

Likewise, the minister spoke with Zhang Jianmin, president of the State Tobacco Monopoly, and with Cubans who work at the diplomatic headquarters and in the representative offices of the Caribbean nation in the Asian country.

In an agenda of visits to four companies in Changzhi, the provincial capital, he reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment in this relationship. (Source: PL)
