Cuba mourns death of former Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang

Former Chinese prime minister Li Keqiang was one of the main forerunners of his country's reform and opening-up policy

 

Havana, Oct 27 (RHC) Cuba mourns this Friday the death of former Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, who held the position for the last 10 years.

In a publication on X, the head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Emilio Lozada, conveyed his condolences to family and friends.

Lozada highlighted that Li was a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 17th, 18th and 19th Central Committees of the Communist Party of China.

According to television station CCTV, the former premier died at the age of 68, after all medical attempts to revive him after a heart attack failed.

Li Keqiang left office on March 11, after a decade at the head of the Chinese cabinet, during which time he was one of the main forerunners of his country's reform and opening-up policy. (Source: Prensa Latina)
