Sixth Investment Forum concludes at FIHAV 2023
Havana, Nov 8 (RHC) The 6th Investment Forum concludes today at the 39th Havana International Fair, and among its main activities it will show foreign investment opportunities for the Eurasian Economic Union.
Today’s activities include the panels Investment potential for the Gulf countries and Cuba, an attractive market for the Region; the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Promotion Agency of Mozambique and the Mariel Special Development Zone; the presentation of the Service Portfolio of the Cuban Medical Services Marketer; and the National Days of China, Panama, Argentina, Vietnam, the Netherlands and Mozambique.
The previous day, the general director of Foreign Investment of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment of Cuba, Carlos Luis Jorge, presented the update of the Opportunities Portfolio on the first day of the 6th Investment Forum.
Jorge explained that in 2023, 30 projects were completed, 3 are in the final approval phase, and 45 are in advanced negotiations.
He stressed that for the first time a foreign investment deal was concluded with a Cuban partner residing abroad.
In total, the island currently has 334 foreign investment businesses in operation from more than 40 countries. Fifty-two of these businesses are located in the Mariel Special Development Zone.
Regarding the Portfolio of Opportunities, the general director specified that Cuba has 729 projects, 21 more than the previous year, which imply a total investment amount of 34,471 million dollars. (Source: PL)
