Congress on disaster risk reduction begins in Cuba
Havana, Dec 5 (RHC) The 11th International Congress on Disasters begins today in Havana, where attendees will share experiences and draw up common strategies to confront them.
The event, which will take place parallel to the 7th International Firefighters Conference, will meet until Friday at the Convention Center.
The Congress will address topics such as the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction Management; the comprehensive preparation of society to achieve a culture and effective management; natural, technological and health origin of disasters; information and communications technologies; and special data infrastructures.
Participants will discuss issues related to international cooperation and assistance, confronting extreme events and the introduction of new technologies to respond to them. (Source: PL)
