Cuban delegation closes visit to India with new agreements

 

Havana, January 19 (RHC) The Cuban business delegation, headed by the First Deputy Minister of Communications Wilfredo González, closed today its activities in India with new agreements reached with relevant institutions and companies.

González and S. Krishna, secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in Digital Public Infrastructure. Previously, on the last day of IndiaSoft, Yaimí Trujillo, director of the University of Computer Sciences, and Raúl de la Nuez, general director of the BioCubaFarma Information Technology company, signed similar agreements with an important Indian company in the sector.

The day before, during a forum between businessmen from the two countries organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce based in New Delhi, Trujillo signed agreements with the Indian Institute of Technology for collaboration in teaching and research, and with the company Agni Interactive Ignite Creativity, dedicated to games and entertainment.

In a telephone communication, the Cuban Minister of Communications, Mayra Arevich, thanked those present at the forum for their interest in Cuba's opportunities, and expressed her conviction of the satisfactory result of the Cuban delegation in India with an impact on the development objectives of the telecommunications industry, in computing and in the postal activity of the island.

The First Vice Minister of Communications described the interactive dialogue between businessmen as the main activity of his delegation and considered it a great opportunity to begin a long path of commercial relations in the sector.

He also spoke about the advantages of the Caribbean island for investment or the establishment of companies such as its geographical position, the high development of its human capital, and the internal economic transformations with the creation of private companies. (Source: PL)
