Havana, Feb 13 (RHC) The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, met today with the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, as part of the bilateral program in the context of the World Summit of Governments.
During the meeting, Marrero affirmed that Africa is an essential part of the history of the Caribbean nation, and recalled that Cuba has always supported the cause of African countries since its fight against apartheid.
He also held a meeting with the administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Achim Steiner, who valued Cuba's work regarding incentives to promote development, and highlighted the coordinated manner in which the island works with the program.
In the dialogue, the commitment to continue collaboration with the Caribbean nation was ratified, not only in emergency aid, but in long-term projects, in the health and biotechnology sectors, according to the official account of the Cuban government’s X account.
The Cuban head of government also spoke with Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, general director of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, an institution that has supported the Caribbean nation with financing for projects with high social impact.
Al Suwaidi highlighted the strength of the political ties between Cuba and the United Arab Emirates, and affirmed that the economic institution in his charge will continue to provide support to strengthen bilateral relations.
