Santiago de Chile, June 8 (RHC)-- Chilean deputy Boris Barrera sent greetings to Prensa Latina on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its foundation this month and highlighted the work that the information agency does today in the world.

“Believe me, the role they play in breaking the misinformation of the hegemonic press is very important. Keep going,” said the legislator and member of the Communist Party of Chile (PCCh).

Founded on June 16, 1959 in Havana, this agency was the first Latin American communications project of international scope with an alternative vision of the regional reality.

It currently has around 35 offices in different countries, mostly on the American continent, and distributes around 400 dispatches daily in Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian and Russian.

“Today a different voice is required to be an inspiration for the social movements of the world. That is why I send Prensa Latina an affectionate greeting and recognition for their work in these 65 years,” said, for his part, the former conventional constituent Hugo Gutiérrez.

This press medium delivers its message daily to thousands of newspapers, magazines, television stations, news agencies and radio stations throughout the world.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
