Havana, June 14 (RHC) -- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, today congratulated the people of Sancti Spíritus for having won the honor of hosting the central event for July 26th, Day of National Rebellion.

"Congratulations, people from Sancti Spiritus, because in the midst of so many complexities you show that it is possible," said the president on his X account.

In his message, Díaz-Canel highlighted that the province's indicators are advancing, but not without problems still to be resolved.

May the energy of the Moncadistas continue to drive us to achieve a better country, he urged them.

“Sancti Spíritus, host for the 26th celebrations!  Congratulations, Sancti Spiritus, because in the midst of so many complexities you show that #YesYouCan.  The province's indicators are advancing, but not without problems still to be resolved.  May the energy of the Moncadistas continue to drive us to achieve a better country.”

Today it was reported that the Political Bureau agreed to grant the province of Sancti Spíritus the host of the central commemorative event for the 71st anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

When adopting this decision, the stability of the province was taken into account in the fulfillment of the main tasks in the economic, political and social spheres, to which production and service workers, farmers, intellectuals have contributed in a sustained manner.  (Source: ACN)
