Cuban authorities analyze socioeconomic situation in Havana

Havana, August 8 (RHC) -- The Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, met this Thursday with authorities in Havana to evaluate the results of the implementation of agreements and the work priorities of the organization.

The party leader is also visiting socioeconomic entities in Havana with the objective of evaluating food production, actions to correct distortions and boost the economy, and identified social problems.

Morales began his tour of the Organopónico Casino Deportivo, an entity dedicated to the production of various crops such as cucumber, radish, beans, chard and condiments.

According to a report by the Cuban News Agency, he is touring the Cuban International Tobacco Company, the Organoponic of the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana and the neighborhood under transformation of Los Pececitos, located in the municipality of Boyeros.

This Wednesday, the president of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament) of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, and Vice President Salvador Valdés held a meeting with authorities in Havana to analyze the socioeconomic situation of the territory.

During the meeting, Lazo insisted on the importance of paying attention to the energy situation of the Caribbean country and called for measures to be taken for the rational use of energy.

For his part, the vice president stressed the need to reorganize work in the state sector, to maximize savings during times of high consumption.   (Source: Prensa Latina).
