Fidel's legacy and imprint are present in Syria

Havana, Aug 13 (RHC) The Association of Syrian Professionals Graduates in Cuban Universities today highlighted the validity of the thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the immortality of the human values he left for generations.

In a communiqué issued on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Fidel's birth, the referred entity assured that this great leader was the inspiration for Cubans, Syrians and all lovers and fighters for freedom in the world.

Fidel Castro departed physically but remains in our minds and hearts, and his ideas give us strength in our daily efforts to improve the Syrian-Cuban relations and also to defend humanity and fight for a better and fairer world, said the text of the note.

The members of the Association reiterated the commitment to work to promote brotherly relations, armed with the Fidelist thinking.

In declarations to Prensa Latina, the head of the Association of Syrian Graduates in Cuba, engineer George Bittar, considered that Fidel is the most just man and faithful to his homeland and humanity, and in spite of the enormous challenges, particularly the blockade, he managed to lead Cuba to be one of the best countries in the world in science, education, sports, culture and health.

Bittar praised the help offered by Cuba to Syria and to all the attacked peoples who need to defend and preserve their sovereignty.

In turn, Hisham Wanous, journalist and current Telesur correspondent in Syria, thanked the Island and the Historical Commander of the Revolution for the great contribution to humanity and for giving Syrians the opportunity to be trained as professionals and acquire values and principles of solidarity and internationalism.
