Cuba encourages congress tourism for 2025

Havana, Dec 20 (RHC) The tourism industry in Cuba is offering a diverse range of events for 2025 related to the MICE sector.

This approach seeks to foster one of the most lucrative travel options worldwide, providing an opportunity to bolster efforts in reviving the tourism sector on the island.

The rise of MICE tourism, a term that encompasses Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions, is a prominent global trend, driving the expansion of international collaboration. This type of tourism, fueled by professional and business-related motivations, is a crucial driver of sector growth, as acknowledged by experts worldwide.

In this context, the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) presented its Event Calendar for the upcoming year, on December 16th at the Tropicana Cabaret in Havana. The calendar prioritizes the organization of meetings and features a wide range of topics that tourism experts consider highly favorable.

During the presentation, Yanet de Armas Padura, the director of events at Mintur, emphasized the exceptional venues on the island that cater to this type of tourism. These include the Palco Hotel in Havana and the Plaza América Convention Center in Varadero.

The calendar promises a year filled with extraordinary experiences, with the emergence of globally renowned events encompassing the domains of culture, science and technology, social sciences, sports, education, health, and tourism.

It includes the nine events that makeup the schedule of the Cubasol Business Group and its affiliated companies, with a special focus on the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2025), which will be held in the capital and will feature China as the honored guest.

The calendar encompasses 235 events, including fairs, conferences, congresses, and other activities, with the aim of establishing Cuba as a preferred destination for MICE tourism. (Source: Prensa Latina)
