Malabo, November 18 (RHC) -– A group of 35 medical students from Equatorial Guinea departed for Cuba where they will conclude their sixth academic year and graduate, according to diplomatic sources in Malabo.

Cuban ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, Pedro Doña, attended the departure of the students from the Medical Faculty in the city of Bata and encouraged them to study and share the values of solidarity with the Cuban health professionals. This was the tenth group of Guinean students that comes to Cuba since the medical faculty in Bata was set up in 2000 on the initiative of president Teodoro Obiang Nguema and Revolution leader Fidel Castro.

A total of 208 doctors have graduated from the Bata faculty after taking their sixth academic year in Cuba.

The ambassador called on the students to return home with their diplomas and join their sisters and brothers in the field to assist the people of that African nation.
