Malabo, November 25 (RHC) -— As part of Cuban cooperation relations with Equatorial Guinea in the field of education, a new brigade of teachers from the island arrived in the capital Malabo to work in local senior and junior high schools.

Two groups of Cuban teachers will take over a project already implemented by a previous brigade that worked in the African nations for the past two and a half year, where authorities, school directives, students and their relatives praised their work.

Cuban ambassador to Malabo, Pedro Doña, visited the teachers in their residence upon their arrival and called on them to follow the example of their countrymen, who concluded their term in that country. “Let´s keep honoring the admiration and prestige expressed by the government and people of Equatorial Guinea, as a sign of the excellent relations between our two nations.”

Cuban Deputy Education Minister Kenelma Carvajal recently said in Malabo that 121 Cuban teachers had concluded their work in that country and that another 200 professors would arrive in January to work at the local Agrarian University.

The official recalled that a recent visit by Guinean President Nguema Mbasogo to Cuba contributed to further strengthen bilateral relations between Havana and Malabo.
