Havana, December 22 (RHC)-- The number of visitors to Cuba from the Southern Cone of Latin America increased to 11,480 in November, representing 99 percent of the expected figure, according to a tourism official in Buenos Aires, Niurka Martinez.
The largest numbers of vacationers came from Chile, Paraguay and Peru if compared to 2013, said Martinez, who heads the Cuban Tourist Office in the Argentinean capital, which follows the tourist activity in those countries and also in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
Argentina, which continues to be the main source of vacationers to Cuba from the region, reported 64,200 visitors from January to November, said the official who was optimistic about the near future due to the increasing number of Argentineans who want to visit the island following a promotional campaign and the upcoming direct flights next year by Argentinean airline companies to Cuba.
