Havana, January 26 (RHC) -– The director of the UN Development Program (UNDP), Jessica Faieta, said in Havana that her agency will continue to support Cuban efforts in the economic, social and environmental areas.
During a press conference in the Cuban capital, Faieta said that the UNDP Cuba-cooperation plan began implementation in 2014 and will expand until 2018 in order to contribute to the assessment of the quality of life of area residents.
She said that the initiative is aimed at local development, particularly geared toward replacing imports, as well as contributing to the development of renewable energy, HIV-Aids prevention, and attention to young generations and other problems related to gender.
The UNDP official praised the results of projects undertaken by the Havana Historian´s office in rescuing and restoring the Old Section of the city and other social and public initiatives.
