Kathmandu, May 13 (RHC) –- A 48-member Cuban medical team including 22 doctors has arrived in Nepal in response to the April 25th earthquake that killed more than 7,600 people, Cuban officials reported on Tuesday.
The medical team took with them a field hospital that contains a surgical unit, sterilization equipment, an intensive care unit and diagnostic equipment including X-ray and ultrasound machines.
Authorities in Kathmandu said that the governments of Nepal and Cuba were already working on the setting up of the Cuban field hospital in the Kirtipur municipality of the Nepalese capital.
