Santiago de Cuba, June 24 (RHC) -– The visiting Singaporean Foreign Minister, Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam, is scheduled to hold talks today with Cuba's Economy and Planning Minister, Marino Murillo.
The Singaporean official toured the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba on Tuesday, where he praised Cuba's advances in the areas of medicine and science, expressing interest in future collaboration.
"We have welcomed Cuba to international organizations; many Cuban commissions have visited Singapore. We are working on the development of the country to benefit the people. When we say that we are working, I mean the people, with certain autonomy, and we are conducting exchanges with Cuba in this regard. We also admire the development of Cuba in the scientific and technical sectors, to which we are also directing our interests," Shanmugam said.
