Buenos Aires, July 3 (RHC) -- Argentinian political observer Atilio Boron said that the White House can do more to alleviate the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba.

Boron said that since Havana and Washington decided to restore diplomatic relations, constructive decisions have been made including the removal of Cuba from the list of so-called sponsors of terrorism and the opening of embassies.

However, "the actions and concrete decisions made by the White House to lift the blockade have been few," according to the Argentinian analyst.

Atilio Boron said that a team of U.S. lawyers has shown that Barack Obama has a wide range of powers in the Executive and that if the U.S. president wanted, he could make decisions that would significantly reduce the harmful effects of Washington's blockade of Cuba.
