New York, September 26 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro is meeting a tight working agenda in New York City, which include his attendance at plenary sessions of the UN General Assembly, as well as meetings with U.S. and world leaders.

The Cuban president attended the address of Pope Francis at the UN General Assembly on Friday. He met with his Mozambique counterpart Filipe Nyusi, on Friday afternoon, and later with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who led a business delegation to Cuba last April.

Other meetings involved several U.S. congressional representatives, including Barbara Lee, a Democrat from California, James McGovern, from Massachusetts and José Serrano, Charles Rangel, Nidia Velázquez and Gregory Meeks, all from New York.

The Cuban president arrived in New York on Thursday for his first official visit to the United States. In the coming days, he will meet with several heads of state that traveled to participate at the UN Assembly including entrepreneurs, members of Solidarity-with-Cuba organizations and Cubans residing in the United States.
