Quito, September 28 (RHC)-- The Cuban Five, who suffered unjust imprisonment in U.S. jails, sent greetings to the Cuban people for the 55th anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, the largest mass organization in the country.

Gerardo Hernandez, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando González -- who are visiting Ecuador with Cuban internationalist Orlando Cardoso -- said that although they miss their homeland, they are in a country that is attached to Cuba by strong bonds of friendship.

As part of their agenda in Ecuador, the six Cubans are scheduled to participate in the Progressive Latin American Meeting, ELAP 2015. They will also meet with members of organizations of solidarity with Cuba and local authorities.
