Havana, October 27 (RHC)-- The President of Italy's Council of Ministers Matteo Renzi is paying an official visit to Cuba on Tuesday.
As part of his agenda, the top government Italian official will preside over a Cuba-Italy business forum at Havana's Hotel Nacional and will tour the Higher Arts Institute, where he will deliver a key-note lecture.
Renzi will also pay homage to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at Havana's Revolution Square and will be officially received by Cuban authorities, Prensa Latina news agency reported on Tuesday.
This is the first visit by Renzi to Latin America and the Caribbean since he took office in February 2014. His current tour includes Chile, Peru and Colombia.
Italy and Cuba share cordial and stable relations in the diplomatic and political areas, as well as in bilateral cooperation, cultural and scientific exchange and investment, particularly in tourism and energy.
