La Paz, December 4 (RHC)-- Bolivian Minister of Health Ariana Campero said her country will be forever grateful to Cuba for its health cooperation, which she added is the result of the strong friendship and solidarity ties between the two governments and peoples.
During a ceremony Thursday, marking December 3rd – the Day of Latin American Medicine -- the Bolivian official thanked Cuba and especially, the more than 700 specialists from the Caribbean country who are currently offering their services in Bolivia as part of Cuba's cooperation programs in the field.
Bolivia's health minister, a graduate herself from Cuba's Latin American School of Medicine, recalled that when the first brigades of Cuban health professionals arrived in Bolivia, many were against due to anti-Cuba media campaigns. 'However, the Cuban doctors came, did a wonderful job particularly in remote, under-served communities, for which they have earned the respect and admiration of the Bolivian people.'
