Havana, March 8 (RHC)-- On Monday, First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel attended the creation of the National Association of Computer Scientists (UIC) in Havana.

The Association groups all Cuban computer science and communication professionals, who graduated after 1959, affiliated either to State institutions or the self-employed sector.

Addressing those present, Díaz-Canel said that the group aims to bring together all relevant actors and entities to share experience, knowledge, and ideas, and thus contribute to Cuba's development.

The first vice president pointed to the importance of the new Cuban non-profit organization in a world, where outside influences, mostly dominant groups, are trying hard to dictate to others, even resorting to the latest information technologies to advance their interests and harm other nations and peoples.
