Massive mobilizations took place this weekend in many of the world's capitals to condemn the genocide being perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the recent aggressions in Lebanon, which have caused more than 2,000 deaths and great destruction.

The city of London was the scene of a massive march of more than 40,000 people who came from different parts of the UK to demand, with banners and slogans, an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and hands off Lebanon.

The protest was led by former Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, now an independent, and former Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf, among others.

There were several clashes with British police during the demonstration and several people were arrested, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, in Paris, several activists expressed concern about the outbreak of a regional war in the Middle East, where tensions are rising with Iran, Yemen and Iraq.

The contradictory tone came in Berlin, where the police authorized a march in favor of the Zionist regime of Israel and repressed pro-Palestinian demonstrations, among which 26 people were arrested.

After the United States, Germany is the world's second largest exporter of arms to Tel Aviv, and deliveries have increased since 7 October, when the attacks on the defenseless civilian population of Gaza began.

Mobilizations also took place in Madrid, Rome, Caracas, Mexico and Santiago de Chile, where voices were raised to demand an end to the war and genocide against Palestine, the immediate withdrawal of the Zionist troops from the occupied territories and an end to the attack on Lebanon.

In the Chilean capital, thousands of people walked along a long stretch of the emblematic Alameda Avenue, stopping in front of La Moneda Palace, seat of the presidency, where they demanded the immediate break of commercial, military and diplomatic relations with Israel. They also held a 24-hour reading of the names, ages and other data of the 17,000 minors killed in the bombardments of Gaza last year, in a popular outcry against the world organizations that are incapable of restraining Israel and defusing the impending disaster in the Middle East.
