Cuba's University of the Arts
Havana, June 2 (RHC)-- The Cuban University of the Arts (ISA by its Spanish acronym) celebrates 45 years in 2021. On the occasion, a communications campaign was launched that extends through December.
In statements to the press, Vice dean Enia Rosa Torres said the aim is to highlight the institution’s accomplishements since its creation in 1976.
Torres said the celebration is dedicated also to the 60th anniversary of Fidel Castro’s iconic speech ‘Palabras a los intelectuales’ (Words to Intellectuals), given during one of Fidel’s frequent meetings with young Cuban creators. The program includes homage-paying ceremonies to founders of ISA, academic exchanges and artistic presentations in all disciplines, as well as a documentary series entitled ‘La trascendencia de lo efímero’, about the Center’s history and its role within the Cuban cultural policy. It compiles the testimony of professors, students and accomplished artists, who graduated from Cuba’s University of the Arts over the past 40 years since the first graduation.
The program to celebrate the 45th anniversary of ISA also includes master classes, workshops, book launchings, fine arts exhibitions, concerts, among others.
The 20th Scientific Conference ‘Art and Culture’ will be held online from June 7th through the 15th. Several foreign scholars have confirmed their participation.
