Solid pitching by Ian Rendón guided Industriales win 9-3 to get even in the sub-series playing leader Matanzas on Wednesday at the 54th National Baseball Series in Cuba.
Rendón reached a record of 4 wins yesterday in the season supported by the offensive of Yunieski Gourriel and Rudy Reyes with one homer each.
Ciego de Avila couldn't take advantage over Matanzas' defeat to advance in the qualifying positions and was beaten by Isla de la Juventud 8-7. Outfielder Jorge Alberto Tartabull led the offensive of his team to the win with 3 hits, including a double, a drove in two runs as first base Luis Felipe Rivera batted 4 hits and scored two runs.
Pinar del Rio continued its winning streak of five wins after defeating twice Mayabeque by a score of 12-1 and 5-3.
Villa Clara beat Guantanamo in the first game 3-0 but Guantanamo won the second with the score of 2-0.
In rest of the games, Cienfuegos beat Granma 2-1, Artemisa kept a steady pace after defeating Las Tunas 8-4, Holguín won over Camagüey by a score of 9-3 and Santiago de Cuba beat Sancti Spíritus 5-1.

The schedule for the CONCACAF Under-20 Soccer Championship Jamaica 2015 was announced today, Thursday Oct. 30. The qualifying event will take place in Kingston and Montego Bay on January 9-24. The tournament will qualify four teams directly to the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015.
The draw was held at the Hilton Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica, sorting the 12 teams into two groups of six teams each.
Jamaica, the host country, was drawn in group A. The teams drawn were placed in alternate groups, until the Caribbean region Pot 1 was empty. The procedure was repeated for regional pots 2 and 3, continuing the alternate grouping of teams drawn into Groups A and B by turn, until the balls were exhausted and groups full.
Pots for the draw are designated as follows:
Pot 1 (Caribbean): Jamaica; Aruba; Cuba; Haiti; Trinidad and Tobago
Pot 2 (Central America): El Salvador; Guatemala; Honduras; Panama
Pot 3 (North America): Canada; Mexico; United States
Cycling
Five Cuban women cyclists will compete in the first phase of the Cycling World Cup 2014-2015 season. They traveled to Mexico on Thursday along with five male cyclists, who plan to be physically fit after completing their preparation at Aguascalientes training base.
Sprinter Lisandra Guerra, middle-long distance and router Yumari González and Yudelmis Domínguez as well as young Marlies Mejías and Arlenis Sierra will participate in this first event in Guadalajara on Nov. 8th and 9th.
National Cycling Commissioner Héctor Ruiz said the cycling team includes Alejandro Mainat, Luis Alberto Montoya, Jans Carlos Arias and young Iván Delís and Tony García as well as trainer Florencio Pérez.
The women cyclists, coached by Leonel Álvarez, will join their the men's team in Aguascalientes to conclude their training for the 22nd Central American Games Veracruz 2014.
