Bogota, September 26 (RHC/teleSUR)-- In related news, Pastor Alape, a member of the FARC’s secretariat, told teleSUR over the weekend that the guerrilla group has reached an agreement to transition into a political force during the 10th National Guerilla Conference, taking place in the southern Amazon region of San Vicente del Caguan.
“We have approved 50 percent of the conclusions and 100 percent of the peace agreements reached in Havana… We will become a political force. However, we have to wait for the reforms on political parties, especially those of the opposition,” Alape said.
For now, he said, FARC will continue as a guerrilla force and will keep the guerrilla structure, as a path has to be established for the transition into a political force so that the FARC can present itself as a political party before Congress.
