Lima, November 13 (RHC)-- Repression committed by Peruvian police, described as "brutal," against the demonstrators who expressed their rejection of the new president Manuel Merino, left several people injured, detained and disappeared.

Citizens used social networks to denounce the "brutal" repression and published videos showing how troops launched tear gas from a helicopter.  The police also threw pellets at the people.

"They used cell phone blockers so that people would be left incommunicado.  They shot directly at the body.  Use of weapons by police dressed as civilians, people arrested and disappeared.  And on Peruvian TV nothing," denounced the user on Twitter identified @MermeladaMagica.

The Institute of Press and Society (@IPYS) reported that journalists Alonso Balbuena and Ernesto Benavides were injured while covering the demonstrations.  "The police shoot directly at journalists and demonstrators," said the IPYS on a tweet.
