U.S. meat plant workers suffer discrimination for seeking healthcare
Atlanta, February 18 (RHC)-- In the U.S. state of Georgia, meat plant workers who survived a deadly liquid nitrogen leak at a Gainesville poultry processing plant last month say they are being discriminated against and intimidated as they try to file compensation claims and get medical care.
Six people were killed and nearly a dozen others were hospitalized at the plant, which is owned by the Foundation Food Group. Most of the workers in Gainesville’s meat processing plants are Latinos.
