Tehran, June 19 (RHC)-- A top Iranian official has hailed the Palestinian people's “unparalleled resistance," saying the expansion of resistance groups will lead to the collapse of the Israeli regime. The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) also stated that supporting the people of Palestine and resistance groups is part of the fundamental policies of Iran.
"We consider it our duty to support the Islamic Jihad movement in line with the idea of liberating Palestine, and we will continue this support with steadfastness and honor," Brigadier General Ali Akbar Ahmadian said.
Ahmadian made the remarks in a meeting with the Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad movement Ziad al-Nakhala in the capital Tehran on Saturday. The two officials discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
“The expansion of resistance throughout Palestine, while defeating the Zionists' imaginary dream of Greater Israel, will mark their collapse,” he said. Ahmadian emphasized that today the Islamic Jihad and other resistance groups have the initiative to confront the Israeli regime.
The SNSC chief further stressed that the aspiration of the Palestinian nation and the liberation of the holy city of al-Quds can only be realized with resistance, as he hailed the continuation of the unparalleled resistance of the Palestinian people and resistance groups, particularly the Islamic Jihad.
"The 5-day war showed that the Zionist regime is declining and the resistance groups are rising," he said.
Ahmadian further noted that resistance against Israel “is the axis of unity among the Jihadi groups," adding that the occupying regime’s “divisive tricks must be thwarted with vigilance.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s Parliament speaker also talked about the Palestinian people and resistance groups. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that Palestine is the first point of the resistance front and the most important issue of the Muslim world, stressing that the Islamic countries must maintain their unity in order to get closer to the final victory day by day.
"Soon we will see the face of the resistance front stronger than in the past," Qalibaf said in a meeting with Nakhala and his delegation. He also said that today, all the occupied areas have become unsafe for the Israeli regime, adding that the occupying regime has become weaker than before due to internal insecurity, economic problems, lack of identity and many other issues.
Nakhala, for his part, pointed out the recent events in the occupied territories, emphasizing the need for unity among Palestinians and resistance groups.
“We consider unity the basis of victory, and we believe that just as our enemies unite to fight us, we also unite to defeat,” he said.
