Phnom Penh, October 15 (RHC)-- Cambodia and Cuba are interested in exploring new areas of cooperation such as agriculture, environment and rural development, according to the island's ambassador to Cambodia, Liurka Rodriguez.
"During a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhay Ly, we agreed that these 60 years of diplomatic relations have paved the way for deepening bilateral collaboration in medicine, education, and sports and expanding them to areas such as those mentioned," the diplomat told Prensa Latina.
The Cambodian leader congratulated our country for its recent election as a member of the UN Council for Human Rights and pointed to Cuba's assistance to other nations in health care. Yim Chhay Ly especially recalled the presence in Cambodia of the Cuban medical brigades. He pointed to their contributions to the improvement of the health indicators of his country during difficult times.
