Havana, July 19 (RHC)--Cuba's Prime Minister thanked the Nicaraguan people for their solidarity with the Antillean nation and expressed the certainty that his country's people and the government will always stand by their Sandinista brothers and sisters.
The dignitary participated in the central act for the 43rd anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution on Tuesday.
Upon his arrival, he said, "it is an honor to come representing the General of the Army, President Diaz-Canel, and the people of Cuba." He conveyed a warm greeting to the Nicaraguan people, "who we love so much and who have supported us so much in the great struggles that have touched us, but sure of victory," he said.
Before the event, Marrero held a meeting with members of the Cuba solidarity movements and with Cubans living in Nicaragua. He told them about the complexities Cuba is going through in the current economic scenario, accentuated by the current economic crisis.
Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos de Céspedes Piedra, Director of South America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Jorge Mayo Rodríguez, Cuban Ambassador to Nicaragua, made up the Prime Minister delegation.
